FROM its humble beginnings in a crowded HDB shophouse in 1979, ACADEMY has grown to become a (twin) tower of strength in the mass communication sector comprising ACADEMY COMMUNICATION PTE LTD and ACADEMY VIDEO PRODUCTION. The former is the 'software' arm dealing in writing and public policy courses while the latter is the 'hardware' arm providing IT and photographic services.

ACADEMY COMMUNICATION is founded by its current Managing Director Sunny Goh who has become a much sought-after trainer by international, regional and local enterprises, especially those in the government or government-related sector. The company has a team of nine committed trainers covering various fields from business development and policy consultancy to media/mass communication and effective writing/language courses. Its head office is located at Havelock Road, with an associate office in Tanjong Pagar. It also has a regional presence in Kowloon, Hong Kong and Taipei, Taiwan.

ACADEMY COMMUICATION collaborates regularly with the Civil Service College, the Centre for Management and Development and statutory boards such as CPF HDB, PUB, Mendaki and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. It has also worked directly with the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of National Development and private firms such as Mapletree. International clients include the Bruneian and Indonesian governments. In total, the firm has trained more than 50,000 officers and employees in almost all Singapore government ministries, agencies and organs of state.
