Established in 1979, Gilmore Service and Supply started as a hardware trader. We specialized in servicing the plywood and wood-working industries in neighbouring countries like Indonesia and Malaysia as well as supplying spare parts for the plywood and wood-working machineries, polyester yarn, hotmelt glue and woodputty for the making of plywood as well as custom-made steel and rubber rollers etc.

In 1989, Gilmore expanded into plywood and timber trading. With strong support from East and West Malaysia producer, Gilmore became one of the major wholesalers of timber products for both the local and export markets. Gilmore Agency Pte Ltd was formed to handle expanding trade activities such as the sale of wood-working machineries, supported by various Japanese plywood machinery makers like Hashimoto Denki, Yamamoto, Meinan, Taihei, Minami, Kikukawa and Uroko. As a result, many of the plywood plants in Malaysia have been comissioned by us on a turnkey basis. In line with the desire to provide a comprehensive sales package, Gilmore engaged a team of service engineers to maintain the equipment and attend to any urgent situations as we are committed to provide good after-sales service to our clients.

In 1993, Gilmore ventured into the region, establishing Macmill Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia and Gilmore Pty Limited in Australia. Having a stake in the property segment was an attempt to diversify our business. It was also the optimum timing to seize the market opportunity, given the favourable property prices then. Our Group invests in commercial, industrial and residential properties, thus our Portfolio comprises of commercial shophouses, factories, taverns, condominiums, apartments, cold rooms and landed properties.

In 1998, our Group took yet another challenge by venturing into small-scale property development. With a team of architects, consultant engineers as well as builders, Gilmore has successfully completed a number of up-market housing projects in Singapore.

In 2003, Gilmore set up a Representative Office in Hanoi after invitations from our business associates in Vietnam. To date, Gilmore Group has 7 companies under its name. Together with associates from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Japan, Gilmore Group has successfully transformed itself into an ideal regional trading partner for our business clients and associates.
