Kimiya is the pronunciation of old Persian language (?????) which means gold or the science of transformation of metal. The Persians were one of the earliest civilization that excels in chemistry.

In 2003, Kimiya started off as a humble set up offering one-to-one private home tuitions in Chemistry. This tuition business that caters to JC and secondary school students rapidly flourished as word of mouth from appreciative students spread. During the next few years, Kimiya developed and marketed numerous teaching materials in-house for Chemistry, which were all well-received by other tutors and teachers.

In July 2013, Kimiya opened its first MOE Registered Tuition Centre in Ang Mo Kio, offering group tuition for GCE ALevel and OLevel subjects.
