Lithan Academy is a 4-year Edutrust certified WDA-recognized CET Centre based in Singapore. We leverage on innovative technology and pedagogy to offer relevant, flexible, and affordable learning programmes. Our education model combines competency-based curriculum, cooperative learning, and just in time delivery to produce skilled professionals for enterprises.

Our comprehensive suite of ICT skills-based training programmes includes short, "bite-size" courses and qualification programmes that deliver multidisciplinary competencies for induction into specific job roles. Our programmes are accredited to Singapore's WSQ Competency Framework. They also have accreditation pathways to selected industry and academic qualifications including Victoria University (Australia) and De Montfort University (UK).

History

Lithan was founded in 1997 as Genovate Solutions. It provided SAP certification programs and consulting services. In 2002, Lithan acquired Lithan Academy, which was then known as Knowledge Window Asia Pacific (KWAP). Lithan Academy extended Lithan Education's programs to include academic programs in entrepreneurship and ERP. By 2008, Lithan had training centres in Singapore, India, Malaysia, Thailand and a joint venture company in Sri Lanka.

In 2009, Lithan was acquired by Leslie Loh, a private equity investor and entrepreneur. Under the new management, Lithan was reorganized and repositioned to provide adult education within a cooperative education framework. Several products, which did not fit the new approach, were discontinued while those that did were expanded. Non-performing training centres were also closed.

The period from 2009 to 2012 was marked by increased investments in the marketing and development of new programs for the SAP ERP and Systems Management professional communities. Cooperative education programs were developed with and funded by Singapore WDA, IDA and e2i government agencies. The new framework proved to be successful with Lithan's and Lithan Academy's' student populations, that grew 60% and 530% respectively during this period.

The years 2011 to 2012 were also significant as Lithan Academy embarked on acquiring a 4-year Edutrust certification. The Edutrust certification is a much sought-after distinction as it is a mark of quality programs, processes and corporate governance.
