Background

Systems Design Pte Ltd was incorporated on 15 June 1981 with an authorized capital of S$4 million and now has a paid up capital of S$1 million. It started out distributing hardware equipment like microcomputers, plotters, printers and communication terminals.

Over the years, it has branched out into vertical application software, networking, system integration, and web-related business. The company handles a fair bit of outsourcing business from local SMEs and MNCs from managing network infrastructures to doing contract programming.

Incorporating a wide range of highly reliable products together with the vast experience and expertise, Systems Design has earned an enviable reputation as a vendor who believes in providing complete solutions to many users.

Financial Performance

Since its formation, Systems Design has been maintaining profit stability except for a couple of recession years. The annual turnover is approximately S$3 million.

Company Objective

To provide users with total system support in sales, web based activities, vertical software packages and implementation, software customization, systems maintenance and hardware servicing.

Staff Strength

At the present, Systems Design has about 30 employees, majority of whom are specialists with a wide range of experience in various fields of computer technology and applications. To quote in figures, most of our key personnel have more than five years of experience in the IT industry.

MAJOR FUNCTIONAL AREAS

Business Units
Our sales teams are organized under Business Units. Each Business Unit consists of a group of dynamic and enterprising staff. Receptive to our clients' information needs, they are able to provide excellent advice on various aspects of computerization.

Customer Support
This department is responsible for doing the implementation and subsequent support of our vertical software packages. Staff from this department are usually very familiar with that particular industry and the functional capabilities of our software.

Software Development
Software development is provided by a team of dedicated and highly qualified systems analysts and programmers, who have the application expertise to continually enhance our vertical software packages to meeting changing market needs.

Systems Engineering
Systems Engineering provides the pre-sale and post-sale support on the range of products carried by Systems Design. Some of the staff are certified in CNE, MCSE or have received factory training from the principals. In some cases, it may even be a combination.

Field Engineering
Engineering maintenance is provided by experienced engineers, complemented by a complete range of spares and back-up equipment. The Engineering Department not only provides single shift but also 24/7 support service. Standby engineers/technicians drive company vans home.

Basically, we provide web hosting, software services, consulting, networking, hardware maintenance, systems implementation as well as conduct educational courses. A number of companies have outsourced their IT functions to Systems Design.

Systems Design is also a systems house specializing in Linux and Windows 2003/2008 servers and networks. Using .NET to implement web services are some of the jobs done recently. Hence, we provide both customized software and software package for general accounting systems and the following vertical markets:
