About Us
Xtreme Sailing opened for business in 1993. Founding partners Tim Ross and Paul worked together and we're active sailors in Perth, Australia. Paul was sailing and coaching aboard the 420. Tim was also active in the 420 fleet.
Jimmy Koh, a native Singaporean, wanted to manufacture a few boats in Australia and then ship them up to Singapore for the growing sailing community there. After the first lot of Australian made boats, the conversation turned to manufacturing in Singapore or nearby Indonesia. The Singapore Sailing Federation was just making a huge commitment to the sport of sailing but they needed boats.
Molds were shipped to Singapore in 1993 and the company started manufacturing Optimists and 420's initially for the Seagames. Over the years, more boats were added as the international sailing community recognized the high quality of the Xtreme boats.
